Paris Saint-Germain Edges Marseille on Penalties to Claim French Super Cup in the Middle East.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now won the prestigious cup on fourteen separate times.

Paris Saint-Germain needed a dramatic equaliser followed by a perfect spot-kick decider to overcome their arch-rivals in the Gulf and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions title.

The European champions appeared to be sailing towards a straightforward win in the showdown featuring the French league champions and the French Cup holders after Ousmane Dembele opened the net in the opening stages.

However, Marseille fired twice late to take a shock lead. First, Mason Greenwood scored from the spot-kick, before Willian Pacho inadvertently directed the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a remarkable twist of fortune, Goncalo Ramos snatched a vital leveler in the dying seconds to send the match into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then emerged as the hero, saving decisive kicks from Matt O'Riley and Traore.

From the spot, Goncalo Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and Desire Doue all converted with composure for Paris Saint-Germain to seal a 4-1 shootout win.

The record champions PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now won this trophy for the 12th time in the past 13 seasons.
